Meet The Team!
Timmy (a.k.a. trekkertimmy)
Hello! My name is Timothy Carlson, but most call me Timmy for short. Often described as an uglier Ryan Gosling, I am the president, CEO, and break room soda machine stocker at Hike The Planet!
Stuff About Timmy
I currently make my home in Flagstaff, Arizona, where I enjoy documenting my adventures in the outdoors by writing humorous articles, sharing tech tips, and reviewing outdoor gear. Aside from hiking, backpacking, and rock climbing, I am cultivating a daily meditation practice, and learning how to not absolutely hate trail running.
In the past, I have worked as a Wilderness Backpacking and River Guide, a Tree Top Adventure Course Safety Officer, and as a Volunteer Fire Lookout for the US Forest Service.
I am a NOLS Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT), and an LNT educator. In 2017, I completed a NoBo thru hike of the John Muir Trail. The Summer of 2018 was spent road tripping and climbing around the American West, and in 2019 I climbed big rocks, and mapped many trails in Yosemite National Park.
With Hike The Planet!, I hope to share my passions outdoor adventure, travel, and photography with you, the reader.
